I'll take GTA V for a hypothetical case. Assume I have installed the game from disc and has progressed quite a bit on the game. Now is there a way to convert the game to digital (No disc) and retain your progress?
The only way I could think is to buy the digital version of game and sell the disc. But I'm not sure if I do that it's gonna work that way. I had Mafia III disc installed (but not played). When it was available on PS+ I added to that to my Library. But the game was still asking for disk. I had to delete the disc installation and re- download the digital version. Now this isn't a problem in this specific case I haven't started the game. But I'm not sure the same about the one's I've progressed.
PS: The idea was to get rid of few discs when the digital games are on sale.
