Little information:
I dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7 (Love both, right now), and XBCD is a fine driver for Windows XP, but I can't get it to run under Windows 7. I've been wanting to move several of my FPS games over from XP to 7 via a couple reg-edits, but I am hesitant to do so if I won't have a controller to play with. I don't have $40 to spend on an Xbox 360 controller that I don't need for anything else, and this controller works fine for everything else, so I don't want one, either.
Is there any way that, with the current software, I can get my controller to work on both versions of Windows without problems? I would expect this to be a really simple problem to fix, but I'm not 100% certain.

Edit: Wow. Well, I can relate the steps on how I got it working, but that's pretty much it. o-O
Literally two minutes after posting this, I decided to go to the Device Manager and take a look around. I had installed the last version of XBCD moments prior. When I went to the DM (Under Hardware and Sound in the Control Panel), I found that there was an icon with a yellow warning sign. At this point, I can't replicate this step since it's now fixed, but I think I double clicked on that icon, and then Windows 7 practically jumped headfirst on the problem and solved it in two seconds.
Hoo-rah for Windows 7. It's so good, it reads my mind and does everything for me.
So I got an amazon gift card for my birthday and considered finally getting an xbox controller for my gaming PC's. Atm I'm still running windows 7, eventually planning to get a better rig with windows 10 probably. 'Yes, you can download the required driver for Windows 7 here https.
